Independent filmmaker Jose “Pepe” Diokno bagged two awards in the oldest film festival in the world. Diokno's entry “Engkwentro” was selected as the grand prize winner by the Orizzonti jury of the recently concluded 66th Venice Film Festival. The jury was composed of Pere Portabella of Spain (President), Gina Kim of Korea, Bady Minck of Luxembourg, Garin Nugroho Riyanto of Indonesia and Gianfranco Rosi of Italy.
