Parenting Cyber Teens
posted by Carrie B. Yan on 06/25/2013 01:21 PM

Now a days, television and video games are ubiquitous in our children's lives. The question is how much time can be safely spent on watching TV or playing video games without the deleterious effects. This is a difficult question to answer. A rule of thumb to follow is that TV and video games should not interfere with what children are supposed to accomplish-that is, learn skills and socialize. Working Mom Reality

A friend told me before I went back to work, "It won't feel like it at first, but eventually you get into work shape." I'm a few months into working full-time, and my work muscles are still quite flabby. In fact, I feel much like I did when I first became a stay-home mom 14 years ago bleary-eyed and sleep-deprived.

These are the days I dreamed... read more

Parenthood: A Sacred Covenant
posted by Carrie B. Yan on 07/18/2013 01:53 PM

"...anything less makes the man nothing but a selfish egocentric sperm donor and the woman only a cold and cruel human incubator."

Every child is a blessing from God, and having children, natural or adopted, is one of the greatest privileges a couple or a person can have. But just like any privilege in life, parenthood comes with serious obligations and responsibilities for both the mother and the father, or the adoptive parent(s).

It does not require a man to be a genius or a superman to impregnate a woman. Neither does it need more than consent for a healthy woman to... read more
