HICCUPS
Occurs
when the diaphragm suddenly contracts and the
epiglottis closes. The air being sucked in as
the diaphragm contracts is stopped by the
epiglottis producing the characteristic sound.
They are common but harmless and usually stops
after a few minutes. However, there are
some that last for days, months and even years
which can be a symptom of an underlying
