GOITER


It is a thyroid disease in which it exhibits enlargement of the thyroid gland. It is seen as a lump in front of the neck just below the larynx.


Symptoms:

1.  Painless swelling in front of the neck.

2.  Difficulty in breathing and swallowing.  


 
Complications:

1.      Cretinism

Causes:

     1.      Auto-immune disorders.

2.      Genetic disorder.

3.      Hormonal imbalance during puberty or pregnancy.

4.      Insufficient iodine in diet.

5.      Tumor in the thyroid gland.

If you observe a lump in front of your neck, consult a doctor immediately.
