| This
procedure is done to dislodge foreign object on a
choking victim.
1.
Let the victim stand and support him from
behind.
2.
With a clenched fist placed under the
breastbone and the angle of the thumb against the
abdomen, jerk your hands inward giving the victim
a hard squeeze.
3. Do this procedure five times as necessary.

4. For babies, put him face down on your
forearm and his head should be lower than his
body.
5. Slap him four times between the shoulder
blades but not as hard as you would for an adult.
6. If this procedure still fails, lay him on
his back and do four chest compression (CPR).
7. If the obstruction remains, do
mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.
