Bohol is one of the prominent tourist spots in the country and the land of the famous Chocolate Hills. This natural wonder consists of around 1,268 cone-shaped mounds covered with grass, which turn to chocolate color during the dry season hence the name. Bohol is also the home of the Philippine Tarsier, the smallest known primate in the world measuring only four or five inches and its tail longer than its body.
The fourth president of the Philippines, Carlos P. Garcia, was a Boholano. He was born in the municipality of Talibon.
The province is gifted with so many tourist attractions. Historical churches since the Spanish period still lie majestically in the island like Dauis Church, Loon Church and the Philippines' oldest stone church, the Church of Baclayon. The place is blessed with refreshing waterfalls, mostly hidden away. The most popular of them is Mag-aso Falls, about 25 feet tall with verdant green forests and cool cascading waters set in a scenic surrounding. There's also Hinagdanan Cave, an underground cave idyllic for nature trekking.
Bohol is dotted with white sand beach resorts like Alona Palm Beach Resort, Bohol Tropics Resort Club, and Panglao Island Nature Resort. You will also enjoy Bohol's rich marine life in Balicasag Island Dive Resort, Bohol Divers Lodge and Ananyana Beach Resort.
There are also numerous hotels in Bohol. Have a nice stay at MetroCentre Hotel and Convention Center, Villa Alzhun Tourist Inn and Hotel La Roca.
A province of unique beauty, filled with an abundance of natural wonders and boasting a rich cultural heritage like in
Bohol Bee Farm... that's bountiful BOHOL!
