The Museo de La
Union has displays highlighting
the history and culture of the
province. La Union Botanical and
Zoological Garden showcases a
wide variety of flora and fauna
displays.
You may find
excellent beaches in this
province namely Cabaņa Beach
Resort, El Caseron, Southern
Palms, Coconut Grove and Puerto
de San Juan, which attract
surfers who are eager to enjoy
the well-shaped waves, which
occur during most of the year,
with the exception of the
summer-months.
First class hotels can also be
found in La Union with excellent
service like Hotel Mikka, Agoo
Playa and Sea & Sky Hotel
Restaurant.
Agoo is the starting point for
the Marcos Highway, which leads
to Baguio, and is the site of the
Agoo Basilica, regarded as the
most beautiful church in the
region. The province was the site
of fierce fighting during World
War II and monuments include the
Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and
the Battle of San Fernando Marker
in San Fernando, Baroro Bridge
Marker, Luna Military Shrine and
Park, and Bacsil Ridge.
The 300 hectares Marcos Park in
Pugo has been tagged for
rehabilitation and further
development. Best dive are Fagg
Reef and Research Reef.
