Located in the town of Daet, Bagasbas Beach has undergone a huge transformation from being a trash infested sand trap; it has been turned to a clean and safe haven for recreation for people in the nearby communities. The town of Daet itself has a relaxed pace. Even as the capital of the province, the town has welcome feel and encourages visitors to tour the town and relax away from the pressures of the city and take part of the excellent seafood and the local cuisine, one of the best in the country.
The beach has a long and wide expanse of fine gray sand. During clear but windy days, the big waves that roll in from the Pacific Ocean make it a paradise for surfing beginners and aficionados. The break's sandy bottom and generally uncrowded lineups combine to make a comfortable session for surfers of any level. During typhoon swells, Bagasbas Beach has been known to provide barrels. The current can be quite strong during bigger conditions. Swimmers and waders provide a bulk of the water traffic and care must be given close to shore, where children make a game of avoiding the oncoming boards.
For a relaxed and economic vacation, Bagasbas Beach is perfect for those who want peace and quiet rather than the hustle and bustle of tourist resorts.
