Puraran Beach, Baras, Catanduanes

Known as “Majestic,” Puraran Beach is one of the beautiful beaches on the island of Catanduanes.  It got its title from both local and foreign tourists who have been awed by its impressive tube waves and beautiful and colorful underwater vistas.  It is also known internationally as an “exotic surf point in the Far East.”

An hour and a half from Virac, the shore of Puraran is very inviting with its clean white sand.  Single-occupancy cottages built by Japanese investors are available for guests, with a dining area and resources for surfing and diving enthusiasts.

The best time to enjoy offshore waves is from September to November, when they are in their greatest shape.  A splendid view of mountains and coves can also be seen from the surfing area.  Indeed, Puraran is a wonderful place to have a vacation, even for those who do not surf.  It is the perfect setting to relax and become closer to nature.  While there are no luxury lodgings, the accomodations available at the Puting Baybay and Majestic resorts include basic necessities for a refreshing stay.
