Tinago Falls, Iligan City

One of the main tourist attractions in Iligan, Tinago Falls is also one of the 20 waterfalls that made the city known as the “Land of Majestic Waterfalls.”  Located in Buru-un, Brgy. Ditucalan, the “hidden” 140-feet high falls is tucked away in a deep, narrow valley and splashes into a clear, calm lagoon.

Reaching this wondrous attraction, one must hike approximately 500 steps down a “winding staircase.”  Since the trail has been renovated into a wildlife park, the trek exposes one to a variety of wild animals.

Once there, one can appreciate the beauty of the natural falls, which is said to be a “sanctuary for weary souls seeking to commune with nature.”  The cool pool is too deep to see anything in its depth even with goggles, and merely swimming in it is a thrilling treat.  Consisting of a main waterfall and several smaller ones on either side, Tinago Falls is truly a wondrous sight to behold!
