Batangas is
located in the Southern Tagalog
region and stretches a land area
of 316,580 hectares. It is
bounded on the north by Cavite
and Laguna, on the south by the
Verde Island Passage, on the
east by Quezon and Laguna, and
on the west by the South China
Sea.
The province
of Batangas is popular in many
ways. It is widely known for its
premium coffee product called
"Kapeng Barako" (baraco
coffee) and other high-grade
varieties. It is a major coffee
producer in the country.

Batangas is
also the hometown of some of the
country's leading nationalists
and is endowed with many
historical attractions.
"Brains of the Katipunan"
Apolinario Mabini has a shrine (Mabini
Shrine) in Tanauan, which
houses the remains and personal
belongings of this noted hero. General
Malvar Museum and Library in
Sto. Tomas serves as a memorial
to the last Filipino general who
surrendered to America. Casa
de Segunda Katigbak was the
ancestral home of prominent
Batangas family and was named
after Jose Rizal’s first love,
Segunda Katigbak. There’s also
the Jose P. Laurel Library,
the Marcela N. Agoncillo
Historical Landmark and the Punta
de Santiago Lighthouse.
The province
is likewise rich in natural
resources and scenic spots.
Among these are the beaches of
Matabungkay, Hugon and Mabuhay.
Anilao & Maya Maya on
Batangas Bay are places to go
for diving, snorkeling, boating,
swimming and windsurfing.
Mountain climbing and Volcano
trekking are also best
especially in Mt. Maculot, one
of the highest mountains in the
province.
Batangas
is accessible from neighboring
provinces such as Cavite, Laguna
and Quezon by land via public
buses and jeepneys. Ferryboats
and other watercrafts connect
the province to Mindoro and
other nearby islands. Most of
the destinations in the province
are accessible by public buses
stationed on E. Delos Santos
Avenues (EDSA), Pasay City and
are about 1-1/2 hours ride away
from Manila.

American Forces.
MABINI SHRINE, Mabini
- Houses the remains and belongings of the
"Brains of the Katipunan."
TAAL HERITAGE VILLAGE
- Restored historic buildings in the town.
PUNTA DE SANTIAGO
LIGHTHOUSE, Calatagan - Built in 1890,
it is one of the earliest lighthouses that
still function up to this date.
