Muntinlupa
was once known as a sleepy and
agricultural community, now the
city has bloomed and become a Residential
Haven. Muntinlupa is located
at the southwestern part of
Metro Manila. Bordered on the
north by the municipality of
Taguig, Paranaque on the
northwest, the city of Las Piñas
on the west and on the southwest
part by the province of Laguna.
Its
history and origin has said to
have 3 versions. The first is
its’ relation with a thin top
soil surrounding the land, hence
the word Muntinlupa was created.
The second one said to be a
misunderstanding between
Spaniards and Filipinos, when
asked what is the name of the
place and the townspeople
replied ‘Monte sa Lupa’,
thinking that the Spaniards was
asking what card game are they
playing. The third one is by the
topographical figure of the land
and was given the term
Muntinlupa or mountain land.
The first and last
version said to have the greater
impact for getting its name. |
