Agriculture is the major source of industry.  Coconut occupies the large portion of their crops then abaca, rice and corn.  The massive bodies of water surrounding the province also serve as major fishing grounds.  Their harvest includes mackerel, tuna, anchovy, sigania, skipjack, grouper and shrimps.  Furniture making, ceramics, metal craft, garments, food processing and related crafts are included in their cottage industries.

Numerous attractions abound Northern Samar.  The Surreal rocky landscape of Biri, carved out by the sea and wind is one of its most striking attractions. Other points of interest include the Onay Beach, in Laoang Bay, Pinipisacan Falls, Rosario Hot Springs and the twin falls of Victoria town. 

 The Sohoton Natural Bridge National Park is a beautiful ecosystem composed of natural stone bridges, caves, subterranean rivers, waterfalls, limestone formations, forest and exotic flora and fauna.

 Access thru the province can be by air, sea or land.  Philippine and Asian Spirit Airlines fly everyday from Manila to Catarman.  Buses use the route of pan Philippine Highway that connects different cities of the province.
