Quirino
Province is located at the
southern part of Cagayan Valley,
bounded by Isabela on the north,
Aurora on the east and
southeast, and Nueva Vizcaya on
the West and Southwest. The
province has the potential to
become the white water rafting
capital of the Philippines.
Ilongots,
Ifugaos, Kankanai and Inibaloi
were reported to have settled on
the highlands of the province.
Majority speak Ilokano but
others use Ifugaos, Tagalog
Ilongot, Pangasinense, Kankanai
and twenty three other dialects
which are common in the region
or in the country.

Agriculture
is the main livelihood in
Quirino, like planting crops
such as corn, rice and tobacco.
Small-scale industries such as
furniture making, wood carving,
basketries and other rattan
products are also prevalent in
Quirino. Marble tiles and
figurine industry started to
operate in the province while
the Agri-lime processing awaits
investors. Quirino is also rich
in natural resources like gold,
silver, copper, iron, marble and
limestone.
Similar to
Nueva Vizcaya, the province is
also a mountainous place. Caves
like Aglipay Cave and Nagbukel
Cave add fascination in the
province. Governor Rapids is
famous for its perpendicular
limestone walls and its swift,
turbulent, deep blue water,
making it an ideal spot for
rafting, swimming and fishing.
Quirino is
six and a half hours away from
Manila. To get there, one can
take the bus via Isabela and
from there jeepneys or mini
buses will take you to Quirino.
