Last Saturday, a new batch of beauty queens were crowned at the Bb. Pilipinas 2008 pageant which was held at the Araneta Coliseum. Making it as the 1st Runner-Up was Danielle Castano, commercial model of the BuyNow.ph commercial. On that memorable evening, she shared the stage with 2nd Runner-Up Elizabeth Nacuspag, Bb. Pilipinas-International Patricia Fernandez, Bb. Pilipinas - Universe Jenniver Barrientos, and Bb. Pilipinas - World Janina San Miguel.
For the 18-year-old Danielle, it has been a dream since childhood to join the pageant. Though her parents were initially against any form of publicity for their daughter, they are now supportive of her. A good thing too, since it got Danielle a very good spot in the contest.
Danielle's hobbies include boxing, running around their village and going to the gym. She is also into sports. She plays volleyball and used to be in the track and field varsity team in her high school in the U.S.
