Santalina got her fame through the indie way, much similar to how Lisa Loeb penetrated the mainstream market through her song “You’ll Say” in 1994. According to www.alexa.com, her homepage alone receives 250,000,00 hits daily. With the great marvels of science harnessing her popularity, Santalina soon became the face of www.msn.com

Her images have appeared on the homepage of www.msn.com for 19 times in less than two years with the first one appearing on December 2006. Her images have amassed a total of 4.75 billion views – this huge number is owed to her five-part mini-documentary that was featured by Sprite for their “Exposure” ad campaign. She was also featured in Billboard Magazine in July 2006.

With fame and fortune beside her, Santalina never forgets to give something back to her community. She had her picture and name in a major Katrina fundraiser based in New Orleans. She is part of the Hip-Hop for Hounds movement for the American Humane Society along with RUN DMC. She frequents shows and autograph signings for the United Way, main artist for Katrina Kids, tours with the “Stop the Violence” high school tour, and a speaker at many classes and seminars to encourage children to study hard for their future.

Her indie origin was the springboard of her highly successful career – her “Shake” video destroyed www.billboard.com’s record for “most video plays by an unsigned artist.” It gained 59,617 plays in three days and ranked number 23 for best video of 2007.

“Shake” was featured on the front page of www.bet.com and was ranked number 7 on www.windowsmedia.com for best video in 2007. It was played on MTV Tempo and became number 2 on CVJ Report – Jamaica’s top video show. “Shake” is licensed by MTV and was used for their programs “Making the Band 4” and “Next.” It appeared in three movie soundtracks: “After Autumn” (feat Lil' Zane and Sunday Carter); “Mind, Body, Mask;” and “Let the Children Play,” a horror film w/ Tobi Gadison. It received play around the world in numerous countries on radio and was a club and mixtape favorite.

“Kick In The Door” immediately followed “Shake’s” success. It is getting mediabase and BDS spins. Major broadcast companies like Sirius Satellite, Conspiracy Radio in UK, and Sprint Radio have interviewed Santalina to know what her new single is all about. She has appeared numerous times on National Television including her performance opening for Elton John, Patti Labelle, and Bryan Adams on ABC’s Welcome America Festival. She has sung the National Anthem for Philadelphia Sixers’ and Phillies’ games. Her new music video premiered last May 2008 on www.billboard.com.

Her talent and exposure has allowed her to work with some of the biggest names in the music industry including Grammy Award Winning Producers Eddie Hustle, Keith Shocklee and multi-platinum producer Mr. Mig.

Her previous self-titled CD under Jaxum Records has been selling like hotcakes through iTunes, CDBaby, and www.santalina.net.

Santalina is definitely the Shining Star!
